The only way I found to currently unlock the Samsung Galaxy S5 on android 6.0.1 is to downgrade the firmware to android 5.1.1. Unfortunately, doing this creates a startup boot loop and the only way to escape it is to factory reset the device. I tried wiping dalvik cache as well and waiting a long time but just will keep boot looping.
Is there a reason this is happening? Some samsung security feature upgrade that is not being downgraded properly maybe?
The whole process takes a long time. Backup customer data, downgrade to 5.1.1, reset, go through setup, enable debugging, unlock, upgrade back to 6.0.1, restore customer data. Anyone found a better way to do this that doesn’t involve wiping all the customer data?
Thanks in advance for any solutions!
