Just a week back i was facing some issues with the brand new Asus Fonepad 7 after rooting it. It keeps on showing Asus Demo or something has stopped unfortunately all the time and keep awake during charging!
So i decided to format it but i saw there was no recovery and I was on latest Asus Firmware that is 5.0 LP. I decided to boot it in fastboot and format it using fastboot commands.
I did it… Erased Cache, Data, UserData, System never knowing that I can’t flash the new rom using Odin or something that other well known android devices uses.
Then I keep on searching how to flash it without recovery and just using fastboot. I can’t even flash it using Fastboot i got some cmd errors.!
But fortunately got a solution which probably worked without a problem! So there was no such good post about this! XDA have many threads including this issue but XDA don’t let me post a comment telling me some bull**** of the account must be verified or old in order to comment!
So I decided to post it on my blog!
In this case you might be getting a USB icon when u power on the Fonepad 7 and immediately power off. You can only go to fastboot menu!
You need :
1. A Laptop or a PC
2. Asus USB Driver
3. Asus ADB and Fastboot
4. Temporary CWM Recovery for Intel devices
5. Asus Firmware depending on you! I prefer KitKat because it is the most stable right now!
Now it’s time to fix it. You need to first install all the Asus Usb drivers , then extract recovery.rar and open laucher.bat and when it opens type in ACCEPT and then press T2. Now some **** will happen on your device and boom you’re in CWM recovery.
Download the Firmware from Asus site!
Now you have to go to Mount and Storage option in CWM and mount Data in order to copy the firmware to Internal Storage for flashing! No need of Ext Card.
Just open Adb and type in "adb devices" without qoutations to confirm your device is connected!
Now to copy firmware type "adb push <firmware Location> /sdcard" without qoutation!
After copying, go to the Install Zip option in CWM choose Install from Sdcard and choose zip to flash it!
Just boom you got your Fonepad 7 working once again!
